iCompass @ Basics for Babies 2011

Last Friday I was privileged to participate in B-100's annual 'Basics for Babies' fundraiser at Hotel 540. It was a great morning for the Kamloops Food Bank, as well as the iCompass team members who attended.

Basics for Babies Barry setting up

We arrived around 6 am to help set up for the event and get ready to receive the rush of attendees. Barry and I worked the cash table, taking tickets, cash payments and donations.

Alongside us were two very nice ladies from Royal LePage, and Dora from the Kamloops Food Bank.

Basics for Babies - Extreme Couponer Donation

By mid-morning it was quite a turnout, with lots of smiling faces and many generous donations.

One notable contribution came from Rachel Dortman and Jenny Lyons, two local extreme couponers that used a donation from the Kamloops Harley Owners Group to buy over four thousand dollars of baby products for Basics for Babies.

The news crew was on-site during the event, and filmed a live interview of iCompass president and CEO - Todd Stone - making pancakes for the crowd and talking about the company's participation in this valued fundraiser. As things wound down, we sat and had breakfast with Brenda Aynsley, Executive Director at the United Way. Basics for Babies 2011 was a huge success and tons of fun! I can't wait until next year...
